The Signs of Spring

I shot these random photos in my yard yesterday. I am so excited to see the buds and blooms and signs of spring. I also see the need to refresh the mulch pronto!

Isn't it amazing that nature does what she does? How awesome that every year without fail she unfolds this beautiful, colorful show. The pansies were so pitiful all winter. I confess that I didn't have the faith in them that I should; I thought that there was no way they could survive. And, they are just gorgeous. Their sweet little faces appearing and it's almost like they are smiling and saying "We're here and spring is on its' way!". The lady that owned this property before us planted bulbs all over the place, and while I can't really understand the method to the madness, the daffodils are sure pretty to look at. The redbud has the newest of buds on the tips of its' branches and the Bradford Pears are so billowy and cottony looking to me as they are budding.

What a colorful show Mother Nature is putting on. I am eager to see it all unfold.

  7. THank you so much for popping in for a visit and introducing yourself!!! You have a wonderful start on your new blog!!! I love the look. May I ask about the layout- I love the idea of the different tabs at the top to help for ease of viewing different blogs. Is there a way to set those up on anyones blog or how exactly do you go about it-

I love blogging and it has opened up so many new friendships. You are going to love it too and will have tons of faithful follwers before you know it! I just became one if I can get it to work!!

  8. Thank you so much for stopping by today.
Oh, my I could come over and dig all these flowers up and put them in containers on my front porch. My mother always says that flowers that you get from others yards are always good luck. I bet mother was never caught stealing from her neighbors yards. LOL
These are so pretty and it makes me want to plant more; some of my items are just starting to come up but I don't think we are over the cold nights yet. Have a great evening.

  9. Those flowers look beautiful. I am patiently (not really) waiting for spring. We are still blanketed with snow here in Wisconsin. At least I can enjoy the blooms early through other's blogs. Thanks

  11. Wow! Thanks for the great comments!

Mary Ellen - I love the tabs at the top too but I am a blog dummy. They are added with an html widget in your header elements. That is as much as I know really. I had a wonderful lady make my blog template and layout for me. I told her exactly what I wanted and she created it with me. I say with me because as she added each element to the blog she sent it to me for approval. I did pay for this service but to me it was worth it because I got exactly what I wanted with no muss and fuss and frustration for me. I did start out blogging on my first blog but I was so inept. I didn't have that many posts there so I started fresh here. The lady that did my blog is Joanna at Southern Girl Blog designs. You can click on her button at the bottom of this page. I checked around and she really is one of the most reasonably priced blog designers around and truly she went above and beyond with me.

Thanks so much for mentioning my blog to your buddies. I am trying to "find my way" here but I so adore going to everyone else's blog. I guess I fear that my blog won't be interesting.

I hope this helps and I am so glad to "meet" you and all of the other wonderful ladies here in blogland.

    Warm regards,

    Vanessa

  19. Your new blog is positively beautiful and so diverse. I love the three column look and header tags, too! It allows so for so much versatility. You go, Girl!

I won't see flowers here for another couple of months. We still have mud season to get through yet LOL

    Much continuing success.

I am so proud of you!
